Air cooled cylinder barrels made from special “Shell Moulding Process” have wear resisting close grained iron casting and this ensures long life and efficient cooling.
“CENTRIFUGAL CAST PROCESS” is acknowledged to be the best method for manufacture of Cylinder Liners. It possesses the bearing metal qualities that cause skin healing after abrasion and a structure that is readily wetted by oil and retains an oil film. Corrosion resistance is further improved by adding Chromium to the metal. In the centrifugal casting process, the molten metal is poured into a metal mould or die, which is revolving at a high speed. The centrifugal force causes the metal to distribute itself evenly around the die. The resulting casting is of much finer grain and free from blow holes or porosity. A further important advantage is that the impurities, being lighter than the iron, are forced centrifugally to the bore surface from which they are removed by machining.
PISTONS are manufactured in a new alloy of exceptional wear resistance and strength at working temperatures The high conductivity of this material promotes cool running and the light but robust design ensures efficient operation over extended periods. Resistance to wear ring grooves, skirt, and gudgeon pin hole is greatly increased. To ensure dimensional stability in service, all alloy piston castings are correctly heat treated and aged.
PISTON RINGS are individually cast and close material control ensures high tensile strength, resistance to wear and scuffing and to collapse at operating temperatures. Each Ring is double turned, barrel honed and ground to maximum accuracy for smoother performance and low fuel consumption.
GUDGEON PINS / PISTON PINS for single cylinder engine applications are made from15MnCr3 grade steel alloy. All automobile Gudgeon Pins are manufactured from 20MnCr5 grade steel alloy having hardness between 55 to 65 HRC.
All Gudgeon pins are case hardened for high wear resistance surface, coupled with tough cores to resist shock loads and strength to give larger service life.
VALVES – Inlet valves made from chrome-silicon alloy steel and exhaust made from chrome-nickel-silicon alloy steel (to operate under high temperature and high stress conditions).
Valves are also supplied with liquid nit riding process or hard chrome plating which increases the surface hardening of the Stem. This improves resistance to corrosion with consequent sliding ease.
VALVE SEAT INSERTS – Our high chrome alloy and PL-12MV valve seat inserts are best suited for use in light alloy and cast iron cylinder heads as they offer good wear resistance at high temperature and high corrosive resistance.
VALVE GUIDES are made from two kinds of material
>> Grey Cast Iron
>> CuZnAl-alloy
GREY CAST IRON of perlitic structure with high phosphorous content. The perlitic structure and the reticular phosphide distribution along with the good graphite formation give high wear resistance and improved running properties in poor lubrication condition.
CuZnAl- alloy guides have excellent wear resistance and low coefficient of friction. Used for highest stressed guides.
All our Cast Iron Guides are manufactured having minimum hardness of 95 HRB (210 BHN).
Arrow Connecting Rods are drop forged from 42CrMo4 steel. They are normalized, quenched and tempered. We also make Connecting Rods of C-70 grade with a hardness of 262-302 BHN. All rods are checked 100 percent for Cracks, Machining and Forging Defects. We use 10.9 grade bolts and nuts for tractor Connecting Rods and 12.9 grade bolts and nuts for automobiles and trucks. The Big End bores of all Connecting Rods are honed and mirror finished.
Our Quality Check for these connecting rods consists of checking the center-to-center distance, straightness, parallelism, alignment, ovality, twist and bend.
We also produce Connecting Rods by Fracture Splitting Technology.
In consideration of the demanding needs for a bearing surface, ARROW engine bearings are available in four materials
(Babbitt) WhiteMetal Tin
(Babbitt) Lead Base Alloy
Aluminum Base Alloy
Copper Lead Alloy
Bushes are made by us of 4 kinds.
Bi-metal Bushes The most popular being Steel back with Copper Lead Alloy lining. This is specially used for high loads.
Hard Bronze having 90% Copper and 10% Tin are used for several working conditions and heavy pressures specially for applications like Connecting Rod Bushes and Valve Guides.
Red Brass Bushes having 85% Copper, 5% Tin, 5% Lead and 5% Zinc are generally used for water pump Impellers and Slow Speed Engines.
Aluminum Bushes are with properties such as high load carrying capacity, fatigue strength and thermal conductivity, in addition to excellent corrosion resistance and low cost.
